Meet Alysia
I've always been fascinated by what helps people perform at their best.
Before I earned my Master of Arts in Sport and Performance Psychology, I experienced performance from two very different worlds: music and the military.
As a musician, I learned that great performances are rarely the result of talent alone. They are built through preparation, discipline, trust, and the ability to work in sync with others. Whether rehearsing with an ensemble or performing in front of an audience, I discovered that confidence grows through intentional practice and that every individual plays an important role in creating something greater than themselves.
My experience in the United States Army offered a different perspective on performance. In military leadership, success depends on clear communication, adaptability, trust, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. I saw firsthand how leadership shapes culture and how the strongest teams are built through relationships, not simply authority or technical expertise.
Although those experiences were very different, they pointed me toward the same realization: sustainable performance is never just about working harder. It's about creating environments where people feel supported, connected, and equipped to succeed.
That realization ultimately inspired the creation of Syncopation Mental Performance.
Today, I partner with leaders and teams to strengthen communication, develop greater self awareness, and build healthier workplace cultures. I believe high performance and well-being should never be competing priorities. When leaders invest in people, teams become more connected, organizations become stronger, and performance becomes more sustainable.
